Here are the main questions from people who want to open, fix or run a company in Brazil. The answers are short and direct. The newest ones come first.

I made a sale and my customer asked for an invoice. How does it work with you in practice?

It's simple: you let us know about the sale and we issue it. If it's a product, we issue an NF-e (electronic invoice for goods). If it's a service, we issue an NFS-e (electronic invoice for services). TF Con handles the issuance so you don't waste time with the city hall or Sefaz (state tax authority) systems. You just give us the customer's details and what was sold. The document comes back ready to send. That's the idea: you focus on selling, we handle the paperwork.

What's the difference between NF-e and NFS-e? I always get confused.

It's easy to remember. NF-e is for products, things you sell and deliver. NFS-e is for services, when you do a job for someone. The NF-e goes through the state's Sefaz. The NFS-e goes through your city's city hall. At TF Con, we already identify which one applies to you and set everything up. That way you never issue the wrong type. If any doubt comes up, just reach out to your accountant.

I forgot to pay a tax and it's already overdue. Is it the end of the world?

No, take a breath. A late tax generates fines and interest, but it can be fixed. We recalculate the amount with the additional charges and generate a new payment slip for you to pay. The sooner you pay, the less it weighs on you. The serious mistake is letting several months pile up. As soon as you notice the delay, tell TF Con that same day. We bring it up to date and even set up a reminder so the next due dates don't slip by again.

Is there something to file every month? How do you notify me?

Yes, there is. Each company has its own schedule of payment slips and filings. But you don't need to memorize anything. TF Con keeps track of the deadlines and sends you the documents ready before they're due. You receive the slip, pay it, and you're done. We notify you by message, in the most practical way for you. Our job is precisely to take that weight off your mind. You take care of the business, we take care of the dates.

Do I need to issue invoices even if I sell very little per month?price may change

In most cases, yes. The invoice is the official record of your sale, even for a small amount. Selling without an invoice can cause headaches with the tax authorities down the road. There are some rules depending on the type of customer and business, and even a MEI (individual microentrepreneur) has specific situations. That's why it's worth confirming your case with your TF Con accountant. We'll tell you exactly when to issue invoices and make the process so simple it becomes routine.

I canceled a sale after issuing the invoice. Now what?price may change

It can be resolved, but you're racing against the clock. An invoice can only be canceled within a certain window, and that window varies quite a bit depending on the state and the type of invoice. In many states it's 24 hours after issuance, but in others it's quite different. Once the deadline passes, the approach changes and it may become a reversal or return invoice. That's why it's essential to let us know the moment the sale falls through. TF Con confirms the current deadline for your case and handles the cancellation correctly so you don't pay tax on something you didn't sell.

I issued the invoice with the wrong amount. Can I fix it?

You can, and it's best to fix it right away. If the error is small and doesn't affect the tax amount, sometimes a correction letter will do. If the amount is truly wrong, the right move is to cancel it and issue the correct invoice. We analyze what happened and choose the safe path. What you shouldn't do is leave it as is. Send the screenshot or the invoice number to TF Con and we'll fix it and explain what changed.

Where do I keep my invoices? Do I need to print everything?

There's no need to fill a drawer with paper. Today the invoice is digital, an XML file that is stored electronically. The tax authorities may request this record for several years, so you can't delete it. TF Con keeps your invoices organized and accessible, without you having to worry about folders. If you need an old invoice for a client or for the bank, just ask. We locate and send it quickly, in digital form.

If I'm late with a monthly filing, can I get a fine?price may change

Yes, you can. A filing submitted after the deadline usually results in a fine, even if you don't owe any tax that month. That's why filing on time matters as much as paying. The amount of the fine varies depending on the filing, and the rules have even changed recently, so confirm your situation with the TF Con accountant. The good news: with us taking care of the calendar, that kind of delay almost never happens. We file within the deadline and let you know it's already been done.
