If I import something incorrectly, what problems can come up?

TF Con · July 07, 2026

The most common issue is having your cargo held at customs. This happens when the product was misclassified (incorrect NCM code), a license was missing, or the tax was underpaid. Held cargo means expensive storage fees and fines. That's why TF Con checks the tax classification and licenses before shipment, not after. We anticipate what Receita Federal (Brazil's federal tax authority) will require so your goods flow smoothly. Prevention costs little; releasing held cargo costs a lot. If you have doubts about a specific product, talk to your TF Con accountant before buying.
