I'm going to receive rent from a property in Brazil, but I live abroad. How do I declare it?

Those who live abroad and earn rent in Brazil need a representative and an active CPF (individual taxpayer ID) here. This rent has withholding tax at the source, collected every month, unlike those who live in the country and use the carnê-leão (monthly income tax payment). Whoever pays the rent (the tenant or the management company) is responsible for withholding and collecting it. You can't simply ignore it, even while being far away. TF Con handles this part for you, calculates the right tax, and keeps your situation compliant with the Receita Federal (Brazilian federal tax authority). The tax percentage for a non-resident changes according to the country and the rule, so confirm the current amount with the TF Con accountant.
