I keep hearing about 'obrigacao acessoria' and I don't get it. What is that?

An obrigacao acessoria (ancillary/reporting obligation) is any declaration you submit to the government, even when no tax is paid at that moment. It's the State wanting to know what your company did: how much it sold, how much it bought, who works with you. There are several documents with different names and deadlines.
